INTRODUTION

A graduate of JFA Academy, the Japan football association’s youth programme. She has been known for one of the most talented players in Japan while she was playing at the academy and been called up for the national team at various youth levels.
In January 2024, Momoko joined the German club, FC Bayern München directly from the JFA Academy U18 and signed her first professional contract. Momoko takes her first steps in European football at the Swedish loanee club, FC Rosengård.
Momoko Tanikawa is a versatile midfielder who is technically talented and can play any position up front as well as a deep-lying playmaker. Despite her young age, she has maturity with great understanding of the game and vision to distribute the ball and control the match. Momoko is two-footed and can provide goal-scoring opportunity with precise passes in any range, score from a variety of positions, and take on her defenders with both feet.
