Ko Itakura is large scaled diffensive player who can play both at the bottom of midfield and center back.
And he is strong in the air battle and aggressive ball hawking, moreover good at building up play.
He played for Kawasaki Frontale from U-12 team and captained U-18 team.
He promoted to 1st team in 2015, made professional debut in the 2nd stage of 2016 season, against Venforet Kofu.
Ko scored his first professional goal in the match against Eastern FC of Hong Kong in AFC champions League 2017.
He was the member of U-20 national team for FIFA U-20 World Cup 2017 in South Korea , is the starting line-up in the opening match against South Africa.
In 2018, he was on loan to Vegalta Sendai.
After good season in Sendai, Ko moved to English giant Manchester City F.C. and then was on loan to Dutch side FC GRONINGEN in Dec. 2018.
