Takashi Kiyama appointed a new Fagiano Okayama head coach

We are delighted to announce that Takashi Kiyama has been appointed as a new Fagiano Okayama head coach.

"Although it was such a short period of time as 2 months, I have been able to have such a precious time as a part of Gamba Osaka after 24 years since 1997. I cannot thank enough to all the players, team staff, people involved with the team and all the fans and supporters who willingly welcomed me even though the team was facing very difficult time around the end of the season when I joined.

The street to the stadium that I used to go to training every day reminded me of old days and that I have met a number of people at viarious places and have spent amazing time with them. I believe that I was able to have all these experience only because I got to start my career in the football industry at Gamba Osaka. I wanted to take this opportunity to thank everyone once again.

I am going to start a new challenge at Fagiano Okayama. I will bravely take on this challenge like I always do in order to achieve the club's all time goal, to go to J1. I wish Gamba Osaka all the best to get revenge of this year. Thank you very much."

"To all Okayama Fagiano fans and supporters, I’m Takashi Kiyama and I’m delighted to be appointed as a manager.

I am very honoured to coach the team that has been growing dramatically with the local people by their side since being promoted to J2 in 2009.

I have managed four J2 clubs having played against Fagiano Okayama for 17 times in which I experienced myself the City Light Stadium filled with enthusiastic atomosphere that Okayama's supporters created.

Now I can’t wait for leading the team with such amazing supports from all of you, this time on my back.

Our goal is to get promoted to J1. I can assure that we will play aggressively on both attacking and defensive parts of the game, and unite and keep fighting together with all who love Fagiano Okayama.

Let’s go to J1 together!"
