We would like to announce that Kento Misao has joined C.D. Santa Clara from Kashima Antlers on a permanent deal.

"I’m very pleased to be joining C.D. Santa Clara. 

I'm here to win every game and make the team successful. I will try to adapt to the new environment as soon as possible. 

I also promise that I will give my everything during games for the team’s success, and eventually win the trust of my teammates and supporters. I'm looking forward to seeing you soon!"

Kento’s comment for Kashima Antlers

“I have just moved to the Portuguese club, C.D. Santa Clara. During the seven years since I became a member of the Kashima Antlers at the age of 19, I have had many experiences that only a limited number of people can do. Although there were more difficult times than happy things, but I believe that I have grown a lot as a player and a human being because of it. 

When I was looking at the Kashima Antlers club from outside, it seemed like it was easy to win a title, but I realized how painful and difficult it was to win a title.

I was really happy to play here every day with many great players and share the joy of winning the title with the best Antlers family. In recent years, I have not been able to experience that kind of joy with Antlers family, then I’ve been having a hard time about leaving Kashima Antlers. But in the end, when I looked back on my life, I made a decision that I would not regret. I will take on the new challenge of succeeding in Europe, which has been my dream since I was a child, so that I can say, I made the right decision. 

I will never forget the tension, the heat, the atmosphere, the togetherness, and the clapping of hands at Kashima Stadium in the first home game of the 2018 ACL Final. I was so happy to play in that atmosphere. 

I am truly grateful to all the supporters who always supported us with their enthusiastic cheering and high standards. 

I will do my best to bring you lots of good news. Thank you for reading to the end, and thank you for your support over the past seven years!”
