INTRODUTION
Hiroki Sakai is experienced international player, now plays for Marseille.
The 185cm right back uses the dynamic overlap and the high-speed cross that made use of speed and physical as weapons, and is also good at air battle.
Hiroki spent his teenage time at Kashiwa Reysol Academy teams, and promoted to the professional department in 2009.
In 2011, Kashiwa won J League title, just after promotion from division 2. Hiroki was featured as a driving force for Kashiwa in right back, honored best 11 and best young player award at that season.
At that time he started attracting some European clubs. He earned the first cap for the national team at October 2011, also played 4 matches in FIFA Club World Cup and scored in the semi final match against South American champion, Santos FC.
In the summer of 2012, Hiroki moved to Hannover 96, spent 4 seasons with the German club and moved to French giant, Olympic Marseille in July 2016.
He grabbed the right back position, and has been in regular line up.
With a great proven record in Europe he has made, he left Olympique de Marseille for coming back to Japan and joining Urawa Reds in June, 2021.
Also Hiroki represented the country in several major tournaments, such as 2018 FIFA World Cup, 2014 FIFA World Cup and 2012 London Olympic Games, reached semi-final.
