Sakai’s comment on Games of the XXXII Olympiad (Tokyo 2020)
“I am very honored to have been selected to compete on the U-24 Japan national football team for the Games of the XXXII Olympiad (Tokyo 2020). It is a once-in-a-lifetime experience to be able to participate in the dream stage held in my home country, Japan. I will do my best for my team and contribute to victory in each game as an over-age player. I would also like to play with gratitude for staffs and fans, who have supported us during the difficult situation of the Covid."
